Plymouth Pop Warner has worked with Evolution Sports to offer a Summer Speed and Conditioning program for players in levels A, B & C

Vikings Summer Speed Training and Conditioning Program

program dates: June 28th to August 9th, on Monday and Wednesday mornings at the following times:

C Level 9:00-10:00am
A/B Level 10:00-11:00am

Tuition: $185 for A, B and C levels

Program Details
§ Specific to Skill and Power Positions
§ Centered around development of explosive speed
§ Coached by 2 Sports Performance Coaches at Each Level
§ Athletes will be tested before and after to measure progress
§ Report Cards to each parent to show improvement and offer future development advice for each athlete
§ Attendance and statistics will be kept and reported to coaches.
§ Limit of 20 athletes per group

Comedy Night Fundraiser, April 23rd

2010 Registration is almost here...

Registration for the 2010 season will be held at PCIS on Wednesday, February 24th from 6pm-8pm and Saturday, February 27th from 10am-12pm, both in the cafeteria. All football players and cheerleaders should register on one of those days!

The cost to register will once again be $125 per participant, with a family maximum of $300. All registrants are also required to participate in our annual Calendar fundraiser for $50, with a family maximum of $100.

Registration can be paid with cash, check, credit, or debit card. If you have any issues in dealing with the fees, please email Chris Parker to discuss. We want all children that want to participate to do so, so we will work with you.

Registration may seem early, but getting everyone registered helps us focus on hiring the right number of coaches, and schedule planning with the league.

You should print out the registration forms online at http://www.plymouthvikings.com Click on the "For Parents" tab, and then select "Registration Paperwork". Having these forms filled out in advance will speed up your registration process.

First off, we would like to thank the 5 board members that will be moving on this year. After years of dedicated service to the program, we are set up for a bright future, and without their guidance, the program would not be where it is today.

I am sure we will still see them around the field every once in a while, so please thank Dan Cabral (President), Mike Cuomo (Vice President), Donna Green (Treasurer), Brad Burgess, and Bob Sullivan for their many hours of volunteer efforts.

In light of these openings, we have a number of new board members this year. You may visit the Board Members page on plymouthvikings.com for details, and we all look forward to carrying on the Viking program tradition starting now!

A Blue Update: A Blue vs. King Philip, Saturday, November 7th, 6:00pm in King Philip. GO VIKINGS!!

Well Vikings fans, we have a lot going on next weekend! First up, our A and B cheer squads will be in Springfield on Saturday, November 7th, to compete in the Regional Qualifier at the Mass Mutual Center. They will be competing against squads from the Hockomock, Eastern Mass, and Ocean State Pop Warner organizations, with the top 2 squads moving on to the Regional Finals on November 21st at the DCU Center in Worcester. Let's go Vikings!

On Sunday, November 8th, we will be hosting the Division I Super Bowls at Plymouth North High School. Not only that, but our very own C team has a earned a spot in the PeeWee Super Bowl with their playoff win yesterday!

Well we are 2 weeks into the season and the Viking Pride is in full swing! Coming off our 1st week at home with an impressive 6-1 team record against Brockton, we had Wareham Tigers coming to Forges for another full day of games. With another great day of games the Vikings came away with a 6-1 team record again. WOW!!!! All of our post season playoff eligible teams have perfect 2-0 records as of now...Great Job Guys!!!
Here is a recap of game briefs so far..More to follow as they come in.

The A-team had the first game on Sunday and it was a wet one. Our QBs Thomas Galanek and Trevor Harrington both did a great job getting plays off in those conditions. Galanek was also our kicker and put the ball deep in Wareham territory three time during the game.
The off. linemen all played super against a big Wareham def.There hard work help the running backs to find some traction in all that mud.
All the backs had some great runs and were led in rushing yards by Cody Parks,Patrick Hicks and Ed Ramos.Parks gave the team several Key first downs with some long runs.Hicks put the ball in the end zone first with a 35 yard touch down run.Ramos put the second on in with back to back runs between the tackles to make it 12 to 0. The def. played a great game with Nick Eaton,Rick Barnhardt,Luke Dickerson and Ryan Donovan shutting down the outside and all making hard tackles in the back field. Donald Stoddard lead the def. line all day and put tons of pressure on Warehams QB.The strong def. play by everyone kept Wareham from scoring and the final was 12-0 Vikings.

Plymouth Vikings’ D White against King Philip hosted the last game of the day at Forges Field on Sunday, September 13th.
King Philip came into Sunday’s match-up riding an overtime victory against Holliston.
The Vikings’ White offensive line (Kenny Milbry, Mike Cappola and Tyler Fliegel) provided some great blocking up front to punch in the first score of the game. On a blast by Jacob Burkhead, the Vikings went up 6 – 0. On the next play, King Philip stopped the extra point attempt.
Zakk Graden’s interception provided the next score by D-White’s Blue offense after a great 5-play drive. Colin Nicklas nailed the extra point home with some help from Jake Tamulionis, Isaiah Offutt and Zakk Graden.
Some of the highlights for this game were; the Plymouth Vikings’ defense did not give up a first down. A sack by DE Chris Elliott in the second half to pin King Philip deep.
This was a great “TEAM” victory for D-White. Today’s game was won in the trenches and the offensive and defensive lines provide significant blocking to ensure a D2 victory. Some players to note are Orlando Abreu, Nolan Davis, Reilly Whitehouse, Mike Larareo and Roy Willis

The E Blue squad faced a tough Wareham team on Sunday. Playing at 9am brought the added challenge of very wet, muddy playing conditions. The kids came up big with an impressive 7-0 victory is another defensive battle. The middle of defensive line was anchored by James Richards and the outside was shut down by Austin Nolan, Elijah Ramos, Cammie Caraher and Robbie Gomes. Gomes was the workhorse on the day offensively for the Vikings, but it was Nolan that scored the lone TD of the game in the 4th quarter on a QB keeper up the gut for a 50 yd score. Great job be both teams.

E White ran into a very good Wareham (E2) defense this past Sunday at Forges Field. We fell short on offense and lost by a score of 12 - 0. Tough field conditions after the heavy rainstorm made it hard to move or pass the ball today.
Will "You Say Potatoe and I Say" Furtado had a busy day carrying the ball for E White and made some great tackles from the middle linebacker position. Hunter "Don't Mess With Us" Hassenfus played tough on D and helped cause a Wareham fumble today. Ryan "I'll Tackle You With My Helmet in Your Belly" Iamele prevented a Wareham running back from taking it the house from his safety position. Second year tackle Domenic "Drive Blocking My Opponent Into The Ground Is Pure Bliss" Antonellis has emerged as E White's leader on the offensive/defensive line.
E White travels to Norfolk next weekend to face an always strong (combined Norfolk,
Millis and Medfield) Pop Warner program

WEEK 1 RECAP!!!!!

The B squad opened against a very much improved and formadible Brockton squad. Brockton won the toss and marched the ball some 55 yds. on 8 plays before Plymouth dug in their heels and choked their (Brockton) drive on their 20yd. line. Undounted, the Vikings marched 75yds. the other direction, culminating in a run to the right pilon by Brandon Green for 15+yds and the first TD of the season for "The Horde". A failed extra point attempt made it 6-0, Plymouth. Brockton's next possession was choked when
Bob Dee recovered a fumble on the Plymouth 35 yd. line, setting up a Nick Romanovicz Td jaunt for 60+ yds.. The extra point run by Green was good.The ensueing kick-off yeilded a Boxer return for T.D. and left the score 13-6 at the half. The second half saw a battle for ball control, which Plymouth had the upper hand until an illfated pass was picked off by a Brockton player on about the 45 yd. line and returned for the final score of the game with seconds left. The run for extra pt. attempt was stuffed at the 1yd. line, by safety James McCassie to preserve the Viking win 13-12, Plymouth. The Vikes received solid interior line play by Gavin Johnson, Nate Fratus, and Jack Gallagher, as well as a gritty back performance by Caelon Smith. Sean Howes, Noah Regalado,
Miles Crothers, and Joe Durand also contributed determined performances for "The Horde".

D-White Vikings came away with a hard gought win today against the Brockton Boxers 20-0. The first score came from Jacob Burkhead on a great 37 yd run to make it 6-0. Our second came from Colin Nicklas on a hard fought 32 yd scramble on a handoff by QB Danny Soell. The third tally came from Jake Burkhead once again on a sweep play that went 23 yds. The extra points were added by Colin Nicklas and Nick Lloyd. The Viking defense was stellar, holding Brockton's tough offensive attack to less than 90 yds on the ground. Notables in the game were Sammy Wallace, Chris Elliot, Dylan Ketterer, Jake Tamulionis and Aaron Chase. Great game Vikings..

The first game of the season for the D Blue Vikings was vs. a very strong and big Brockton Boxer team. The Vikings were coming into their first game facing one of the tougher opponents in the league. This one would prove to be a defensive battle as each team came out shutting down one others offense. After one quarter played the score was 0-0. In the 2nd quarter the Vikings would score first on a nice 40 yard run by quarterback Zack "eat’m up" Eaton. Zack had a great run down the left sideline to the Boxers 1-yard line. On the next play Zack would call his own number and plunge into the end zone for the games only score. The point after failed. Going into halftime the Vikings found themselves holding onto a slim 6-0 lead. The 2nd half was again all about Defense as the Vikings shut the Boxers down. The Vikings defense was led by defensive player of the game Carter "crazyman" Solis. Throughout the game, Carter drove the Boxer backfield crazy as he had numerous stops and several sacks. In the Vikings secondary Kyle "bobble head" Caraher came up with a big interception that shut the Boxers offense down in the 3rd quarter. In the 4th quarter the Boxers offense began to march down the field on some nice misdirection plays. With 3 minutes remaining the Boxers faced a 4th down and 4 yards to go on the Viking 20-yard line. With time winding down, Vikings defensive players TJ Hagan and Nolan Perry came up big with a huge 4th down stop to hand the ball over to the Vikings offense. The Vikings offense would run out the clock on consecutive 1st down plays. Vikings running backs Anthony Jordan and Nolan Perry both had outstanding games. Perry had a number of carries that went for long yardage. The Vikings went on to win the defensive battle 6-0. Next up for the D Blue Vikings will be Wareham next Sunday at home at Forges Field

The E Blue squad opened their season, at home, against a difficult Brockton team. The game was a grinding defensive battle with the Vikings coming out on top 6-0 on the strength of a Cammie Caraher 10 yard run near the end of the first half. Standouts on defense were Robbie Gomes, Jeremy Whiting, and Peter Haugh, while the 2 Jacks, Payton and Parker kept the Brockton backs from getting outside all day. This was a great way to start the season for the kids.

Our kids came up a little short this week against a very talented Brockton (E2) team at Forges Field. The final score was 18 - 6. Outstanding players on the day were Johnnell "I Ain't No String Beanie" Fillippini used his size and strength to score our only touchdown of the day. Johnny "I'll Tackle You In Your Own Backfield Because It's the Latest Craze" Hayes had 2 quarterback sacks and 2 stops behind the line of scrimmage against Brockton. Jimmy "I'm Very Fashion Conscious So I Only Wear Under Armour" Palmer played exceptionally well today. "The Hammer" drove his nails into a couple of Wareham running backs for a gain of......negative yards!!!!!
We have a very young team this year and I know that our kids will get better and better as the season moves forward. Next week we take on Wareham (E2) at Forges.

Cheer Gear - What to do if you missed cheer fitting night

If you missed fitting night on June 3rd & need to order gear for the 2009 season, here's what you need to do BY JUNE 30th OR YOUR ORDER WON'T ARRIVE IN TIME FOR THE START OF THE SEASON!

PROSPORTS in KINGSTON (exit 10 by Hannaford's - 781 585 6500) is where we order our gear. They have the order forms and can handle everything from there for both returning and new cheerleaders.

Nothing has changed from last year with the exception of socks and bows (more bow info below).

If you are a returning cheerleader & your gear still fits from last year you don't have to order anything different other than socks & bows.

MASCOTS and E SQUAD CHEERLEADERS - you have the option of purchasing white sneakers, navy leggings and a white turtleneck (although ours are monogrammed) from a local store or ordering the gear from Prosports.

We are doing something different for GAME BOWS & ordering from a separate company. They are $7 each. Please mail a check to my attention (made payable to Plymouth Pop Warner) to PO BOX 1583 PLYMOUTH MA 02360 - include a note "game bow $$$ with your daughter's name". I'm trying to gather all that money & get the order placed soon.

It's all about the CHEER BOW !!!

Cheer Fitting Night ~ June 3rd @ Plymouth South Middle School - 5:30 to 8:30pm.

The fitting night schedule is being planned based on September 2009 Grade Level. We expect to have the squads finalized by the end of June (after the football draft) & will send email notifications once complete.

Please arrive @ the designated time for your September 2009 Grade:
Grades K, 1, 2, 3 5:30 pm
Grades 4, 5, 6 6:30 pm
Grades 7, 8, 9 7:30 pm

New for the 2009 season, the girls will need a GAME BOW which we are ordering from a separate company. The bows are $7.00 each and need to be paid for with either cash or a separate check, made payable to Plymouth Pop Warner.

We will also be collecting the required PAPERWORK on June 3rd which is original birth certificates, with the raised seal for 1st time cheerleaders, and 2009 medical forms. The medical form is a two page (page 1 is completed by the parents, page 2 is completed by the physician) form which is posted on our website www.plymouthvikings.com A standard physical form is also acceptable in place of page 2. The girls will also need to submit a final June 2009 report card the first day of practice.

IMPORTANT NOTE: NO CHEERLEADER WILL BE ALLOWED TO BEGIN PRACTICE ON AUGUST 4TH WITH OUT ALL PAPERWORK COMPLETED!

2009 Season Preparations

First off, happy new year to all! Hopefully everyone had a nice holiday season, and now that we are in the midst of a cold, snowy winter, it's time to start thinking about football already!

The Plymouth Vikings board held their annual elections last week at the monthly meeting and we would like to welcome Jen Whiting and Rick Ewell as our newest members. We would also like to thank Nicole McKenna and Chris Duncombe for their past service to the program for everything they have done.

The 2009 season promises to be a good one. With all the success enjoyed by the program last year, the future looks very bright. We are always looking for new volunteers and coaches for the program, and would like to start gauging the interest on those fronts. We will be posting both coaching application and volunteer application forms to the website today. If you have any interest in doing either, please fill them out and mail them to the address listed on the website, or if you can, email them to plymouthvikings@hotmail.com. The program is only as good as the volunteers and coaches we have, so the more interest, the better!

We have nailed down registration dates also. There will be 2 registration dates set for Thursday, February 26th and Saturday, February 28th at PCIS. Thursday night will run from 6pm until 8pm, while the Saturday times will be 10am to 12pm. You can save time by downloading the 2009 registration forms from the website and filling them out prior to arriving. These dates are for both football and cheerleading, so come on down.

Just a quick recap of the process, for those that may be new to it. The first step is filling out the registration package and submitting that with your payment on either February 26th or 28th. Once the coaches are "hired" and the teams are formed, you will be contacted about paperwork night. You can expect that to be in June or early July. Paperwork night is when we will ask that you come and present your child's original birth certificate and doctor's authorization form so that equipment can be distributed. Once all of the required paperwork is in, your child's coach will have a time in late July to distribute the equipment so that the kids are ready for practice at the beginning of August.

Lastly, we will be starting to plan for our 2009 fundraisers very soon. You can expect a Texas Holdem' Tournament around April, a golf tournament around June, a Vikings Dinner Dance during the season, and some additional possibilities to follow. If you have any interest in helping organize these events, or helping us track down donations, please let us know. Again, the more help we get, the better!

Vikings looking for new Board members!

The current board would like to invite anyone interested in joining the board to come to our December meeting.

The meeting will be held on Wednesday, December 10th at 7pm at the Elks Club on Long Pond Road. Voting for the 2009 board members and officers will take place at the January meeting, so any potential members should come in December to make their intentions known. We do need additional members to fill the board, as well as filling our advisory board.

Vikings Season is complete

Well, that's it for all the great competition for the Vikings this year. The B Blue team lost a close one Saturday night in the Hockomock tournament and C Blue lost to Franklin in the Super Bowl on Sunday. Also, the A and B cheer squads did a great job in Rhode Island, but came up just short of moving on as well.

Congratulations to all the players, cheerleaders, coaches, parents, and everyone else that helped in one or another make this season a great success! You should all be proud to be a Viking!

We will try and get a year end recap up in the coming week or so. Also, please check back throughout the off-season as we update everyone on registration, fund raisers, and other items of interest!

Saturday was a big day for the Vikings. All three playoff teams in action will be moving on after some very hard fought wins!! D Blue took care of Westwood at 13-0, D White beat Norfolk 13-8, and C Blue got by Norfolk 8-0 in Norfolk! The blog will have more details as the day goes on.

Both of the D teams will be playing Tuesday evening for the right to play in the Jr. Pee Wee Super Bowl next weekend at North Attleboro. Speaking of Super Bowls, the C Blue team punched their ticket to the Pee Wee Super Bowl by beating a very good Norfolk team on the road last night. The game was a field position battle as each team would get a first down or 2, then have to punt it away because of great defense from both teams.

A bone jarring, fumble inducing hit from Cody Parks changed the tone of the game in the 4th quarter as Norfolk was starting to drive against a tiring Viking defense. After recovering the fumble, the Vikings were able to put a drive together of their own. On 3rd and goal from the 11 yard line, Parks would go under center and scramble his way to the end zone, narrowly avoiding the sure tackling Norfolk defense, and stretch the ball over the goal line with about 2 minutes left in the game. After Nick MacFarland booted the extra point and boomed the kickoff deep into Norfolk territory, it was up to the defense to hold on for the win. On Norfolk's 4th and long, Anthony Schena crushed the QB from the blind side as he dropped back to pass, to put an end to the game. One quick kneeldown by the Vikings and they were headed to the Super Bowl.

D Blue started off the winning on Saturday by taking care of a tough Westwood team, 13-0. The scoring started off with Cullen Cosgrove connecting with Conor Nolan for a long TD pass. The second TD was scored by Joe Walsh on a nice run, followed by Cosgrave hooking up with Ryan Morrissey for the extra point. Once they got the lead, the defense really clamped down, not giving up a first down in the second half of the game. D Blue is on the road against Hyde Park Tuesday night, with a 6:30 start time.

D White was up next against undefeated Norfolk. Norfolk opened up by driving down and scoring, then kicking the extra point to make it 8-0 early. D White fought right back with a long TD from Ben Waite to pull with 2 points, making the score 8-6. The defense stiffened and when the offense got the ball again, Michael Crosby got free on the outside and rumbled about 60 yards for the second D White touchdown. The extra point was good to make it 13-8 and the defense held it up from there. D White is on the road against King Philip 2 Tuesday night, also with a 6:30 start time.

Good luck to both the D teams as they battle it out for the right to play in the Super Bowl.

Hopefully you were at the field to see a great playoff game between Sandwich and Plymouth's C Blue. Plymouth came out on top 14-6 and moves on to play Norfolk on Sunday. Game time and location to be announced.

As stated on the website, we will be hosting 2 playoff games tomorrow night at Forges field. Due to the necessity for the lights, the games will be played on the lower field. There will be a $2 admission charge for anyone over the Pop Warner player age attending the games.

The action begins at 6:00pm and will feature:

Sandwich 2 (7-1) vs Holliston (7-1) "C" level Pee Wee Playoff game

Immediately following that game at 7:30pm the match is:

Plymouth (7-0) vs Sandwich (7-1)

Everyone is asked to please come down to Forges Field to cheer on your undefeated Vikings in their first playoff game of 2008! They will need your support against a very strong Sandwich team.

In addition to the C team, we have 2 undefeated D level teams in the Division I playoffs as well. Both D Blue and D White will begin their playoff games on Saturday, November 1st. D Blue will take on the winner of Wednesday night's game between Norfolk 2 and Westwood while D White will be taking on Norfolk. The times and locations of those games are to be determined at this point and will be updated as soon as we know.

Lastly, the B team will also be in the Hockomock Tournament playoffs. The details of their first game are still unfolding and will also be updated as soon as we know more.

So the day started off a little gloomy and wet, but we finished in sunshine after a great day of football. This being the last regular season week, we will post playoff details later on the teams that move on. Now, off to the highlights as submitted by the coaches.

E White

THE E WHITE VIKINGS FINISHED THE SEASON WITH A HARD FOUGHT 6-0 WIN OVER ATTLEBORO ON A SLOPPY FIELD. THE VIKINGS LONE SCORE CAME ON A WILL BARRETT SWEEP IN THE SECOND QUARTER. THIS WAS A DEFENSIVE GAME FROM THE START WITH PLYMOUTH ONLY GIVING UP ONE FIRST DOWN IN THE FIRST HALF, THAT COMING ON A GAME SAVING TACKLE ON THE FIVE YARD LINE BY BARRETT AFTER A LONG RUN. EVERYONE PLAYED WELL ON BOTH SIDES OF THE BALL. NOLAN PERRY, CASEY FERNANDEZ, BRENDAN MOREY, ALEX MUNOZ, P.J BEUTELL, ERIC DECOSTE, KEVIN COLLINS, KYLE WATKINS, & AIDAN CROSBY HAD STRONG GAMES. I AM PROUD OF EVERY MEMBER OF THIS TEAM! WE STARTED WITH FIVE PLAYERS THAT HAVE EVER PLAYED FOOTBALL BEFORE, THEY LEARNED QUICKLY THAT THIS WAS A CONTACT SPORT, AND FINISHED 6-2 ON THE YEAR. THEY EXCEEDED EVERYONE'S EXPECTATIONS BUT THEIR OWN!GREAT JOB GUYS!!

C Blue

C Blue finished up their regular season on Sunday with a perfect 7 and 0 record. The team beat a very good Attleboro team 34 to 0. Over the course of the year the C Blue offenses put up 200 points of offense. That is 28.5 points a game. Not only did the offense have an amazing year but the defense did something I've never seen done before at the Pop Warner level. With a final shut out against Attleboro the C Blue defense finished the year without letting up a single point. Really a remarkable feat and one the entire team can be proud of.

D White

Once again D-white came up big, Winning 20-6. We had a spectacular game against Attleboro on Sunday October 26th. With the D2 Division Championship on the line, the boys stepped up in fine fashion reigning in the 6-1 Attleboro team. On offense Cooper Gavin went 7-9 on the aerial attack with a key first down reception hauled in by Miles Crothers to keep the Vikings drive alive. Gavin going deep to Mike Crosby, with the extra point conversion by Colby Randall to make the score 7-0. Attleboro came right back and answered two plays later on a third down strike for 6 points and missed the extra point leaving the score 7-6 at the half. Vikings offense went back to basics and pounded the ball for long sustained drives to keep their opponent off the field. With just a few minutes left in the third quarter Ben Waithe grabbed 6 points out of the air for his 10th td of the season and also scored the extra point to make it 14-6. With Gavin at the helm the Vikings offense and Colby Randall seemed to pick the defense apart and scored from 50 yards out on a gutsy run around the end ,by Randall ,with a great block by Crosby. With the score 20-6 the Vikings defense came alive as George Thurston and Austin Hanlon led the way. Thurston made several key stops including a game ending pick off on the 4yd line ,while Hanlon had key pass deflections to kill the Attleboro drives. This has been a great season so far going 8-0, D-Whites coaching staff is very proud of each kid on this team we hope you have had as much fun playing as we have had coaching. D-WHITE COACHES

D Silver

D Silver went into the final game of their season against the undefeated King Phillip D2 team. Though the score may have read 31-0 at the end of the game, its not indicative of the effort these kids showed throughout the game and the season as a whole. On multiple occasions our defense held the KP team to 4th and long with great plays by Logan Adams, Anthony Oliviera, Tim Jennings, Devante Ramos, Anthony Roberio, Josh Shea and Blake Cowan to name a few. but unfortunately the KP team has a couple phenomenal athletes on their team that were just bigger faster and stronger then us and were able to convert many big losses into touchdowns. The highlight of the game certainly was the implementation of the Chaos/Scooby Doo defense, a very formidable formation consisting of no down linemen and apparently the use of jumping jacks as a distraction which worked and forced a 4 and out! On offense, Matty Costello and Isiah Offutt helped out Noah Golden in producing our biggest gains of the day behind the white offensive line of Jared DeOrio, Reilly Whitehouse, Zach Camirand, Tyler Monti, Vincent Strassel, and new tackle Josh Hoyt! The blue offense couldn't get started as early on Brandon Nasiatka went out with a mild concussion. Both offenses showed great heart in going up against a team with that kind of record and talent and giving the hits as much as they taking them. Good job guys, not just sunday, but every day you showed up to practice to become better people and better football players.

Some "voices in the crowd" think its about adding up the stat sheet. Only being concerned about how many carries are given, who gets the ball, who's starting and who's rotating, wins and losses. Those people aren't on this team and I'm glad to see it. I'm very proud to say that the difference between the beginning of the season and the end is astounding, like a completely different team. We'll see all that work payoff in the years to come as you guys all develop and go on to win championships here in Pop Warner and hopefully with my help again as high school athletes ;-)

Thanks everyone for making my first year as a head coach one of the most memorable experiences of my life. Kids don't forget, Tuesday is equipment turn in day for us at 5:30. And our banquet is sunday 4-7!!!!! See everyone there!!! WOO!!!!

E Blue

The Vikings E Blue team played thier last regular season game of 2008 against Attleboro this past Sunday morning. The E-Blue squad was looking to rebound after a tough loss last week against Easton. Now to the highlights:

The E-Blue Viking team welcomed back running back Jacob Burkhead off the PUP injury list. Jacob had a great all around game and scored the games only touchdown as the E-Blue team closed out its record this year with a 7-1 regular season record.

The game began with the Vikings offense getting the ball first. The highpowered offense was again led by quarterbacks Zack Eaton and Kyle Caraher. It was Eaton who got the nod at the start. He marched the E-Blue team all the way down to the Attleboro one yard line on the opening drive. The Attleboro defense stood ground as they held the Vikings on all 4 downs from the one yard line. Both offenses went back and forth until Vikings tailback Jacob Burkhead broke off a 24 yard touchdown run in the 2nd quarter to put the E-Blue team on top to stay 6-0.

This one again was all about defense as the E-Blue team recorded its 6th shutout in eight games. Defensive standouts in this one were the entire E-Blue defensive unit. Austin Nolan, Cam Caraher, Sam Decoste, Zack Eaton, Josh Whiting, Jetti Jake Richards, Jack Payton, Zack Greely, Jacob Burkhead, Kyle Caraher, Jack Parker, Jack Dailey, Cam St. Croix and Shane Hibbons. They all played outstanding in this game and all year long as a defensive "team"

On the offense side of the ball Jeremy "Hollywood" Whiting, Robby Gomes, Ryan O'Niel and Danny Lincoln all had a huge day. Up front on the O-Line was Jack Daly, Ryan Creager, Kam MacFarland, Cam Dow, Will Petrillo, Camden Jennings and Jacob Gates opened up huge holes for the running backs.

On behalf of the coaching staff of the E-Blue Vikings team, I would like to congratulate each and every player as they excelled in every aspect of the game.

D Blue

D BLUE played a tough team from Attleboro on Sunday and came away with an impressive win by the score of 25-0. The touchdowns were scored by Joe Walsh and Ryan Morrissey and the extra point pass was from Cullin Cosgrove to Conor Nolan. Offensively D Blue played a great game and season. The “TEAM DEFENSE” posted its 6th straight shutout helping D Blue improve to an outstanding 8-0 regular season record. Up next for D BLUE will be their 1st playoff game on Saturday Nov 1st.

Week 8 Results

Well, we had a chilly day at Forges field on Sunday, but it was a great day for football. The Vikings teams went 6 for 9 on the day and off the recaps.

D White

Once again the Vikings D-White team shut out their opponent, Westwood, 33 - 0. The offense scored on a number of running plays with TDs scored by Ty Santos, on a punt blocked by Jordan Petrillo, Colby Randall on a few, Michael Crosby, and Austin Hanlon on a gutsy run with several Westwood defenders trying to pull him down. The defense did well with a great team effort by all. Noted players were Jake Tamulionis, Cody Gosselin, Pat Travers, Michael Larareo, and Collin Moriarity. The last game of the season is at home against Attleboro.

D Silver

D Silver made the trip to Medway this week and played on of the most exciting games you'll see this season, down three key players this week the kids played their hearts out and should be incredibly proud cuz I know I am. The White offense started the game and got some solid yardage, once again improving upon their performance last week. Noah Golden discovered he has a solid weapon in his stiff arm as he used it to carry the ball and get some well earned yardage. He ran and was blocked for by TE Reilly Whitehouse and the rest of the white line. On the blue offense, the Triple Threat running attack was without their FB this week, so little Matt Costello got his first full game at the position taking the ball up the middle all day and causing a ruckus along side TBs Tim Jennings and Devante Ramos, who both had great days piling up the yardage and showing why they are some of the hardest hitting running backs at the D level. The second half started off with good break away run by the Medway team making it 6-0 after failing to get the conversion. We came right back and put it in with a 50 yard scamper up the middle by Jennings. Medway got the ball back and drove it all the way to the 3 yard line but was stuffed after a great goal line stand on 4th and Goal. With the Vikings offense getting the ball back, we unfortunately got a bobbled handoff that was recovered by Medway for their second touchdown making the game 12-6 in their favor. We spent the whole 4th quarter driving down the field eventually leading to a 1st and goal with less then 2 minutes left in the game. The Medway defense proved they were formidable by not letting us in and on a gutsy play caused the turnover on 4th down and sealed the game. Congratulations to Medway in a hard fought victory. And congratulations to the D Silver team. They left it all on the field and were able to leave the field with smiles on their faces cuz that was a fun game to be a part of. One left boys, lets make it memorable.

E White

THE E WHITE TEAM WON IN CONVINCING FASHION 20-0. NOLAN PERRY HAD TWO SCORES AND CASEY FERNANDEZ HAD ONE TOACHDOWN AND A EXTRA POINT. THE VIKINGS TOOK CONTROL OF THIS GAME EARLY WITH A TOUCHDOWN DRIVE ON THIER OPENING POSSESSION. THEY CONTROLED THE LINE OF SCRIMMAGE ALL DAY BEHIND BLOCKING FROM JOHN MACVARISH, WILL FURTADO, MICHAEL CAPPOLLA, JEFFEREY COSTE, NOLAN DAVIS, ALEX MUNOZ, & P.J. BEUTTELL. DEFENSIVELY THE BOYS EARNED THIER THIRD SHUTOUT OF THE SEASON BEHIND GOOD PLAY FROM ERIC DECOSTE, KYLE WATKINS, WILL BARRETT, AIDAN CROSBY, KEVIN COLLINS, AND ZACK DAGGETT, EVERYBODY PLAYED HARD IN THIS GAME AND THEY GUARANTEED THEMSELVES A WINNING SEASON.

D Blue

Dblue won 27-0 over Easton

Offense scored four times with great blocking from the line lead by Casey Lynch.

TDS scored by Ryan Boudreau, Nick Gill, Joe Walsh and Danny Soell.
Extra points by Cosgrove, Solis and Nolan.

Defense posted it's fifth straight shut out lead by Joe Walsh.

Dblue will now focus on Attleboro to close out the regular season.

E Blue

This past Sunday the Vikings E-Blue mity-mite team took on a very well coached Easton Wildcats team. As with the Vikings opponent last week, Easton was coming into the contest sporting a 6-0 record. This years E-Blue Vikings squad were also coming into the contest at 6-0. The E-Blue Coaching staff came into this game enjoying an 18 game win streak that dated back to the fall of 2006. In attendance and watching from the Easton sidelines for this one was non other that New England Patriots linebacker Mike Vrabel. As the players and coaches made their way onto the field everyone knew that this game was going to be a good one. Know to the Highlights:

It was a windy, cold chilly Sunday morning as both teams trotted onto the field for the opening kick off. The Vikings had won the coin toss and had elected to receive. As the high powered Viking offense made their way onto the field they could feel that the windy conditions may play a factor in their passing game. On their first offensive series QB Kyle Caraher threw a “bomb” to his tight end Shane Gibbons that went for a 40 yard gain. Two minutes into the game the Vikings found themselves inside the 20 yard line of Easton . On the next offensive series the Wildcats took a bite out of the Vikings offense and made them go 4 and out.

On Easton ’s first series on offense they scored quickly on a nice 45 yard run. They then converted on the extra point and led 7-0. The Viking offense answered right back with some nice offensive play of their own. The offense this week was led by running back by committee with running backs Robby Gomes, Danny Lincoln and Ryan O’Neil all seeing time in the backfield. In the second quarter QB Kyle Caraher called his own number on a QB sweep. Kyle was able to reach pay dirt behind key blocks by Tackle Ryan Creager and TE Shane Gibbons. The E-Blue team then converted the x-tra point and both teams went into half time tied at
7-7.

The second half kickoff was received by the Wildcats. Wildcats return man was able to give his offense great field position as he had a nice run and returned the ball to the Vikings 20 yard line. Two plays later the Wildcats running back put his team up for good 13-7.

Defensive standouts in this one were Kam “with a K” Macfarland, Cam Caraher, Cam St. Croix, Kyle Caraher, Austin Nolan, Josh Whiting, Jake Richards, Jack Daly, Zack Eaton and Zack Greely.

As always, this one was a team effort by all. As the season comes to a close, the coaches want to express what a joy it has been coaching and watching the E-Blue team come together as a “TEAM”

The E-Blue team looks to rebound next week and improve their record on the season to 7-1 as they face Attleborough @ home at Forges Field next Sunday.

C Blue

C BLUE played against Easton on Sunday and came out with a win by the score of 28-0 to improve to 6-0. Brandon Green scored three TD’s and Ed Ramos scored the other to dominate the offensive game. Nick MacFarland kicked the extra points. The C defense came out strong and did not allow any offensive points from Easton making this their 6th shutout of the season. C Blue is going into the last game of the season against Attleboro with a perfect record.

E Silver

Hi Guys and Gals,

E Silver ended it's season at home with a hard fought win against Holliston by a score of 7 to 0. E Silver set the tone for the day when, Noah "You Just Know-a He's Gonna Get the Ball" Schulman showed his quick speed and agility on the first play of the game with a fumble recovery. Our defense held strong with a couple of goal line stops against Holliston. Joey "Needles" Neading was injecting pain from his Right Defensive Tackle position. Jimmy "the Hammer" Palmer saw some action at Offensive Left End and pounded the ball up the middle from the running back position. Our only touchdown was scored by Orlando "the Broom" Abreau on a 5 yard sweep to the right and the conversion point with a sweep left. Many of our kids played well that day but I can't mention them all. I did however, accomplish one goal. Every player on E Silver was recognized (at least once) throughout the season on the Plymouth Vikings blog.

I can't believe that the season is over. August 4th seems like it was yesterday!!! 3 months of hard work, discipline and teamwork paid off for an impressive 6 and 2 season for E Silver. I do believe that we greatly exceeded EVERYONE'S expectations. We started the season with 30 players and ended with 20. A couple of kids moved up due to weight, some never showed up to the first practice and some discovered that football wasn't for them. After the game on Sunday, I saw a couple of players with tears in their eyes. They told me that they "didn't want football to be over." Our kid's now know what it's like to finish something that may be hard and not always fun. They discovered what it's like to be part of something bigger than themselves: a TEAM. What a great lesson for life. Somebody once said, "Nothing in life worth fighting for comes easy." I think that Plymouth now has 20 more people that know what that means.

I would like to thank Dan and Karen Cabral, and the rest of the Pop Warner Board for their time, patience and support. Their work does not start on August 1st and end on November 1st., it goes all year long. We are lucky to have such dedicated citizens in our community.

In closing, I'd like to thank Lisa Spinnetti for being our "team photographer," Colettte Schulman for being our "team Mom" and all the parents. Thanks to assistant coaches Fliegel, Hayes, Neading and Dorman for your caring and supervision. A special thanks to Coach Johnnell Fillippini who was sent to help out a guy who never coached before (me). It was soon apparent that my role would soon change to being that of "General Manager" as opposed to "Head Coach." I learned as much, if not more than the kids did from Coach Johnnell !!!! His attention, intenseness and love of the game of football is why 20 kids finished with a record of 6 wins and 2 losses. Thanks again Coach.

"A" Cheer Squad is moving on to the New England Regionals after winning the Hockomock Competition!

Congratulations to the cheerleaders and coaches of both the A and B cheer squads. Both teams did a great job at the Hockomock Cheer Competition in Franklin yesterday. The B squad looked great as they place 3rd in the competition. They just missed moving on themselves!

The A squad won it all! That's right, we will now need to update the home page of the Vikings website to reflect the A squad being the 2008 Large/Intermediate Hockomock Champions! We hope that we have as great a turnout for the New England Regional Semi-Final Competition on November 8th. We will post all the details and ticket info shortly.

D White

The D-White Vikings continued their undefeated season shutting down the Sandwich Bulldogs 27-0. The boys continued to rally as a team on both sides of the ball. The Vikings started out offense, with Ben Waithe scoring on a 40-yard TD with a pass from Kyle Mann. The second TD was scored by Michael Crosby with a great pass from Cooper Gavin, and the same connected for the extra point bringing the Vikings to 13-0. Ben Waithe had a spectacular 70-yard TD run, and the extra point was scored by Gavin on a QB sweep bringing the score to 20-0 at the end of the half. The Vikings final TD of the game was scored by Ben Waithe on another great run, with Cooper Gavin tossing the extra point to Miles Crothers. George Thurston had several nice handoffs to help the offense get in scoring position.

The Vikings defense had several fumble recoveries by Colby Randall, George Thurston, and Cooper Gavin. Some notable tackles were made by Robert Whitman, Pat Travers, Cullen Johnson, and Miles Crothers.

Once again, the coaching staff is pleased with the efforts by their whole team. Next week, D-White is facing Westwood at home.

D Silver

D Silver lost to Mansfield 2 6-0. Once again we were carried by our defense, one of the toughest units in any league by far. Joey Vantagoli had a fantastic game at nose tackle, making several tackles in the backfield. Angel Santiago stood out as he moved from his usual defensive line spot to Outside Linebacker and performed excellently. Tyler Monti and Logan Adams stepped up big for the DL as well. On offense we had trouble with starting position, starting several drives on our on 15 or longer.

The highlight of the day was the awakening of the white offense!!! Noah Golden led a gutsy performance from the unit, who's backfield also consists of Isiah Offutt and Josh Hoyt. That backfield had solid blocking by an o line that stepped up featuring Zach Camirand, Chris and Brendan Sullivan.

As a side note, I would just like to acknowledge that I am a young coach and we have a young staff. This is my first year in pop warner, I'm still learning the game and getting used to this setting. Unfortunately the kids bear the brunt of this inexperience. These kids are an amazing group and deserve better than to be 1-5 and I take full responsibility for that. They do everything that's asked of them and thats all that can be expected from them. To the Plymouth Vikings D Silver team, you are all studs and hopefully we as a staff will be able to lead you to wins the last two games of the season.

C Blue

After not having a game for two weeks and having 5 days off during theteams bye week the Plymouth C team had their best week of practice andit showed on Sunday as they defeated Mansfield 33 to 0.

The first 5 minutes of the game was dominated by Brandon Green. After stopping Mansfield, Brandon Green returned the punt 30 yards and then scored onthe next play. On Mansfield next position "Greenie" intercepted a pass and ran it back 55 yards for a touchdown. The running backs and Chad Senechal this week did a very good job of hitting the holes at fullspeed. Ed Ramos had a 35 yard run capped off by a 3 yard touchdown run. Alan Gomes also had a great game running for two touchdowns and over 100 yards. Ryan Small, Jonathan Gomes, Hugh Sims, Anthony Schena and Jake Zaniboni all contributed as well. None of this would have been possible without an amazing job by the offensive line. Parker, Fratus, Caraher,Johnson, Macfarland, Gallagher, and Smith all anchored the offensive line. Gates, Regalado, Jennings, McNeely, Murphy, and Dee all had great games finishing their blocks and opening up holes. Finally, Panepinto, Teddy Murphy, Haley, and Gulsen did a great job driving off the ball and getting to their secondary blocks.

Defense also had a great game with Tom Giorgio intercepting a deflected pass and returning it 10 yards.

D Blue

D Blue beat Mansfield 1 40-0.

TD's were as follows:
Walsh 60yd run. Cosgrove pass to Nolan for point after.
Cosgrove 15yd run. Nicklas Kicked point after.
Gill 5yd run. Cosgrove pass to Walsh for point after.
Cosgrove 45yd TD pass to Morrissey. N/A point after

Lloyd 35yd run. N/A point after.

The whole Team Defense posted it's fourth straight shutout. Interceptions were made by Joe Walsh and Cam Drew.

Next week D Blue will play Easton at home.

B Blue

This week the entire B Team played the best game of the year so far. Practice leading up to this weeks game was intense and the coaches told the players that they all had to give 100% every down. Mansfield won the coin toss and took the ball first. Our defense took a few plays to settle down and get in the zone and then they shutout Mansfield. Both Plymouth offenses owned the field and Mansfield couldn't stop them the entire game. The final score was Plymouth 20 Mansfield 0. Great way to comeback from a loss everybody worked hard to improve and it showed. Two more tough games ahead and we'll be ready for them!

E Silver

E Silver travelled to Westwood to take on a (very good) Westwood (2) team for a Sunday morning game at 9AM. We were soundly defeated by a score of 30 -12. Our offensive line had trouble controlling Westwood's defensive linemen. This puts our team at a recoed of 5 wins and 2 losses.

Our bright spots and points came from some strong running by Roy "Boxcar Willie" Willis and Orlando "Magic" Abreau. Tyler "Hoochie Coochie" Iacabucci danced with Westwood's biggest and best players from the safety and defensive tackle position
while Kenny "Chesney" Milbry rocked the house from his right offensive tackle position.

We hope to finish this season with a win when we take on Holliston (2) at home on Forges Field for a 9AM kickoff!!!

E Blue

The E Blue Viking Mitey Mites traveled to Mansfield to take on the Green Hornets. This game was one of those games that the players and coaches had circled on the schedule. Mansfield was coming into the contest posting a 5-0 record and only letting up one score all year. The Vikings were also coming in with a 5-0 record and averaging 25 points per game. This one had all the makings.

Now to the highlights:
It was a sun filled morning as the E Blue team stood at midfield for the opening coin toss. The toss was won by the Vikings and they opted to put their offense out onto the field first. This week the offense was again led by the dynamic duo quarterback tandem of Zack “eat’m up” Eaton and Kyle “bobble head” Caraher. On the first two offensive series both Zack and Kyle would soon find out why the Hornets defense had been so stingy all year.

The high powered Viking offense went 4 and out the first three series. It wouldn’t be until late in the second quarter that the E Blue offense would see Hornet territory. The first quarter was a show of defense, as both teams showcased its defensive skills from one another. Neither offense could get things going as the E Blue offense had a few fumbles to start. After one quarter of football the score was knotted 0-0. Midway through the 2nd quarter the Mansfield offense began to pound the ball on the ground. They marched the ball deep in to Viking territory down to the 10 yd line. On a 3rd and goal, Mansfield’s quarterback dropped back and air’d the ball out to the corner of the end zone. Viking safety Cam “bam bam” Caraher stepped in front of a Mansfield receiver for his second pickoff of the year. Behind some good down field blocking “bam bam” returned the ball back to the Viking 30 yard line. As the crowd sensed the momentum shift, Viking running back Jacob Burkhead and quarterback Zack Eaton went to work. Midway through the 2nd quarter the Viking offense found themselves in Hornet territory. On the next play Eaton dropped back to pass and found Viking receiver/QB Kyle Caraher for a 20 yd strike. Kyle turned and put on the jets as he raced his way into the end zone for a 32 yd TD pass and the games first score. The extra point failed and the Vikings went into halftime with a slim 6-0 lead.

In the second half the two teams again showed off their defenses. The Viking defense was led by Jacob Burkhead and the 3 JACKS. Jack “all day long” Daly, Jack “pick’m apart” Parker and Jack “put pressure on the QB” Payton. Helping out the 3 JACKS were also Josh Whiting, Zack Greely and Cam Dow. Whiting and Greely had a nice “Quarterback Sandwich” as they both got to the quarterback together on the same play. Midway through the 3rd quarter the Viking offense struck again. This time they went to the running game and running back Jacob “full speed” Burkhead. Jacob got the hand off at the Viking 38 yd line and darted to the outside. He then put the afterburners on as he left the Hornet defenders in the dust for the Vikings 2nd TD of the game. After 3 quarters played the E Blue team led 12-0.

The 4th quarter was all defense, as the Vikings E Blue team recorded its 5th shutout and went on to improve its record to 6-0. E Blue will face Easton at home on Sunday

Week 6 - Game Briefs - Vikings go 4 for 8, with 4 teams still undefeated!

A TEAM played a tough undefeated Bellingham team away on Sunday. The A team had a tough physical game and came out on the short end of the game by a score of 38-0. Well wishes go out to the players that were injured in the game. A will play on Sunday against Mansfield.

The B TEAM played there second away game this week at Bellingham. We started out strong and moved the ball well. Our team scored first and then shut down Bellingham for the first half of the game. Unfortunately the second half didn't go our way. We fumbled the ball three times once deep in our own side allowing Bellingham to score. We also lost the ball ending two impressive drives. Final score Bellingham 16 Plymouth 8.The team now will get to work preparing for Mansfield this Sunday.

C BLUE had a bye week and did not play. They will continue their win streak on Sunday against Mansfield and look to improve to 5-0.

D BLUE won 32-0. It was a great Offensive day with 5 Vikings scoring TDS. They were Ryan Boudreau, Joe Walsh, Ryan Morrissey, Cullin Cosgrove and Cameron Drew. Extra point pass was from Cosgrove to Nolan. The Defense was equally impressive with 2 forced fumbles and only giving up one first down all game. D Blue improves their record to 5-0 and will travel to Mansfield on Sunday.

D WHITE was able to move their record to 5 - 0 by securing theirfourth shut-out of the season with their most dominating effort to date onboth sides of the ball. On their first offensive series, Colby Randalldashed for a 40 yard TD, and the extra point was gained by a quick slantpass from Cooper Gavin to Michael Crosby. Ben Waithe scored the Vikingssecond TD on a QB power sweep, and Colby Randall dashed into the end zone ona quick pass from Gavin. The Vikings third TD of the game was scored by BenWaithe on a well-orchestrated trick play to make the score 20 - 0 where itremained for the rest of the game. The Vikings were able to showcase theirup and coming players for the majority of the second half. Jordan Petrillo, Jake Tamulionis, Kevin Concannon, TJ Hagan and Dylan Ketterer were able tocreate some gaps enabling the Vikings to advance the ball. Norton was not able to reach the outside on the Plymouth defense because ofthe efforts of Kyle Mann, Myles Crothers, Michael Crosby and Austin Hanlon, and, therefore, Norton was forced to run inside. George Thurston, CooperGavin, Colby Randall, Ty Santos, and Pat Travers took their turns punishingthe Norton running game. The Vikings had many great defensive plays,however, a few noteworthy were Austin Hanlon's fumble recovery on thekick-off, James Ward's punt block, and Ben Waithe's unbelievable one-handedinterception. As with the offense, on the defensive side of the ball, theVikings spotlighted their hard working up and coming. Great blocks andtackles were made by Robert Whitman, Sam Wallace, Mike Larareo, and CollinMoriarty. D White will travel to Sandwich on Sunday to face the Bulldogs.

D SILVER Vikings lost a heartbreaker to Easton, losing 12-6. The first time the Blue Offense stepped on the field; Devante Ramos broke one to the outside, avoiding a shoestring tackle, but leaving his shoe and scampering 70+ yards for a touchdown. The conversion failed. It was a back and forth defensive battle with no one gaining the upper hand till Easton followed a huge 4th down pass play with a sweep to the outside that put it in to tie it up. The defense held tough and was able to stop the conversion. Entering into overtime, we had 4 chances to put it in and couldn't make it. Easton then went on offense and succeeded, winning the game. It was our best game of the season as everyone performed well enough to win; we just couldn't finish the job. Players that performed well on offense were QB Brandon Nasiatka, WR/TE Chris Elliot and Blake Cowan and Jake Overton. Players on defense that had a great game included Isiah Offutt playing out of position at safety, DE Josh Shea kept the outside safe all day and Jared DeOrio on the defensive rotation at DT. Great job guys, now we get ready for Mansfield 2 and plan on our second win of the season.

The E-BLUE Vikings traveled to Bellingham at 9:00am this past Sunday to take on a very tough Bellingham Falcons team. The Vikings were coming off a long layoff after being rained out last week at home vs. Attleborough. It was well worth the 6:00am wakeup call as the E-Blue team went on to defeat Bellingham 33-0.
It was a cold fall Sunday morning as the E-Blue team stepped onto the Falcon field to clash against the Bellingham mity-mites. Neither the cold nor the layoff seemed to bother the E-Blue team as they improved their record to 5-0 on the season. Now to the highlights
The E-Blue offense came into this game displaying a well balanced aerial attack as well as a punishing ground attack. The offense was led by quarterback Zack Eaton. Zack orchestrated the offense and marched the offense down to the Falcons 32yardline. Zack then called his own number as he executed a quarterback keeper up the left sideline for a 32 yard touchdown run.
The second score came off a 47 yard touchdown run by running back Jacob Burkhead. Burkhead rushed for 130 yards and had 2 rushing touchdowns.
Behind the excellent blocking of Will Petrillo, Jacob Gates and Jack Payton the E-Blue offense took to the air. Zack Eaton rolled out to his right hand found his wide open tight end Shane Gibbons for a 20 yard strike. Gibbons then shook off two open field tackles and scampered 46 yards for a touchdown.
Going into halftime the E-Blue team had a comfortable 21-0 lead.
The second half opening kickoff was received by Vikings return man Zack Greely. Zack followed his blockers all the way to the Falcons 32 yard line. The E-Blue offense then went to the running back tandem of Robbie Gomes and Danny "Cadillac" Lincoln. Both running backs had key first downs on the drive as they worked the ball to inside the Falcons 5 yard line. On the next play Lincoln plunged in the end zone for his first touchdown of the year and the Vikings 4th of the day.
With three minutes left in the fourth quarter the Vikings were faced with a 3 down and 7 yards to go for a first down. The offense realized with a first down the clock would be a factor. Running back Jacob Burkhead then took the handoff and scampered to the corner of the end zone for his second touchdown of the day.
Defensive standouts in this one were Josh Whiting, Cam St. Croix, Jack Daly and Zack Greely. All of them had several tackles as well as a quarterback sack.
Next up for the Vikings will be Mansfield next week at Mansfield

E WHITE team came up on the short end of a high scoring game with Brockton 32-26. The offense set the tone early with a Will Barrett td run behind great blocking from John Macvarish and James Richards. Brockton came right back and scored to set the tone for a high scoring game. Nolan Perry had three touchdowns and an extra point, all three of his touchdowns form 50+ yards out. Without question with his 200+ yards rushing & ten plus tackles, it was one of the best games I have ever seen anybody play! Casey Fernandez continued to be a force rushing for 90 yards and making key blocks. Defensively Kevin Collins, Aidan Crosby, Nolan Davis, Kyle Watkins, Brendan Morey, and Jeffrey Coste came up with big tackles. This was a team effort; they left everything on the field with an outstanding effort! E White will travel to Mansfield on Sunday.

E SILVER
Hi Guys and Gals,

It was nice to be home this past week after getting water-logged and beat up in Norfolk last week. E Silver hosted a good Easton 2 team (Sunday morning) on the the main field at Forges. We eeked out a win against Easton with a score of 13 - 7. This brings E Silver's record to 5 wins and 1 loss !!!!

The weekend started out nice on Friday night with Pop Warner Night at the Plymouth North High School football game. It was impressive to see how many Pop Warner players there are when they are all together. The best part was having the Varsity players "high 5'ing" our little guys. THEY LOVED IT!!! I am truly sorry and apologize to those players (and parents) that did not get into the srimmage at half-time. I thought that we were going to get another series of plays but time ran out. As a first year coach, I have learned a valuable lesson. If we were to have a PNHS half time scrimmage next week, I would ensure that ALL our players get at couple plays on the field.

Once again, Orlando "The Broom" Abreau knows how to clean house and swept his way to 2 touchdowns on the day. One in the 2nd quarter for 12 yards and the touchdown and another in the 4th quarter for 30 yards and 6 more points. Joe "Just Got Back From Cocomo" Hurley connected with a nice pass to Zach "On the Attack" Hoyt for the conversion point. Ryan "Kickin'" Kelly showed off his soccer abilities with a great kickoff for E Silver. Dominic "Atlas" Antonellis did a great job at Offensive Guard. Apparently, the referees must have been blind to the "blatant holding" of the Easton player. Antonellis needed to use the strength of Charles Atlas to keep him in check. Team Ramos had a great day. Elijah "I'll HIt You So Hard You'll Be Comatose" Ramos had an outstanding day on defense with several backfield and openfield tacles, keeping Easton struggling for points. His sister, Rafaella's "I Can Hang With The Fellas" play at Safety help stop Easton's best run of the day.

This weekend E Silver will travel to Westwood High School for a Sunday morning game at 9AM for our 7th game of the season. Have a great week !!!!

What A Day For Cheerleading ~ Oct 4th Cheer Exhibition!

Plymouth Viking C, D & E squads traveled to Sandwich High School on Saturday, October 4th for their annual cheer exhibition. Other teams that participated were; Sandwich, Carver, Bourne, Falmouth, & Lower Cape. Plymouth came out in full force with all squads and plenty of fans. It was a great day all around and the kids had a fantastic time. The cheerleaders have been practicing since August 4th and all their hard work paid off today with great skills, adorable routines and, most important, those giant smiles! What a day for cheerleading!

The squads were led by: C – Cindy Gagnon, D BLUE – Heidi Hogan, D WHITE – Kelly Cohen, E BLUE – Merri Emery and Jen Whiting, and E WHITE Lisa Molisse. All the coaching staffs, including the Jr. Coaches should be proud of the way their teams executed the routines and represented Plymouth Vikings.

The "chatter" in the stands from the parents was one of compliments to the Plymouth performances and certainly pride of how well our town and the Plymouth Vikings were represented today!

E Silver Game Brief from Saturday, September 27th

Well, the only team brave enough to weather the storm this past weekend was the E Silver team. They were scheduled for a Saturday game in Norfolk, and unfortunately, they had to play in the muck. I think Coach Hurley's game summary says it all, so here it is.

E Silver traveled to Norfolk on Saturday, Sepember 27th for a 3:30 PM game against Norfolk 2. E Silver lost it's first game (and was scored upon for the first time of the year) to a very good Norfolk team. The final score was 35 - 13.

The highlight of the day goes to the players, parents, family, friends and coaches that made their way to Norfolk from Plymouth in torrential downpours with the expectation that the game MAY get cancelled upon our arrival. "Wishful thinking" of a cancellation did not prevail as 15 of our 21 players showed up to play on a wet, sloppy and muddy field. Our 15 kids played as hard as Norfolk's 28 players. Have you ever heard of the outdoorsmen's magazine "Field and Stream?" Well that's what the field conditions were like; a field with a stream running through it!!!!!

Roy "Boxcar Willie" Willis scored the Vikings' only points and ran as best he could against a tough Norfolk defense. Offensive/Defensive Guard Anthony "I'm Hittin' You Hard, Even If You Aint Ready" Spinnetti worked his butt off "in the trenches" for 4 full quarters. Spinnetti shook off several double teams to still come up with 2 quarterback sacks. Andrew "Monsta" Meyer also gave 110% effort on the field.

Our players learned Saturday that (like their parents) some days are good ones and others are not. The key is to get back up when you are knocked to the ground, brush yourself off and "get back into the game."

Plymouth Vikings Dinner Dance - Friday, October 10th

If you are like most of us, your plan was to purchase your tickets for the DINNER DANCE while at the home games this past weekend - WELL, THINK AGAIN.... the rain got the best of us!

This event is a fund raiser to benefit the program, much like the annual golf tournament and poker tournament. This is the first one in a while, that is actually during the season. Come have a night of dancing and food with a bunch of other parents with children in the program.

Tickets are available @ the snack shack during practices. Please grab them soon that that we can finalize the head count. All tickets should be purchased by this Sunday, October 5th.

Pop Warner Night Postponed; No Practices Friday

The Pop Warner Night, scheduled for tonight at Plymouth North, has been postponed. A rescheduled date will be announced as soon as we get it.

Also, with the rain coming, we will not be having any practices tonight. Some coaches may decide to practice tomorrow, at the Jungleplex, if time is available. We will try to update that here also.

Let's hope the rain moves out before Sunday.

Week 4 Results-Vikings win 7 of 9!- Updated, more to come

This was a great day of football today by all the Vikings teams. Finally, the weather cooperated on game day, and the home crowds were treated to some great action.

As the game summaries roll in from the coaches, they will be posted right here so check back often.

D White

Once again the Vikings defense was able to hold a very strong Holliston team to an 18-0 victory, and their strong offense was able to score on three different occasions orchestrated by Cooper Gavin with running TDs by Colby Randall, Michael Crosby and Ben Waithe. D White improved their record to 4-0 with this very nice win.

The Vikings defense was strong on all fronts with some exceptional plays made by Kyle Mann, who managed to break through a very strong Holliston offensive line to sack the QB for a loss of several yards along with several bone jarring tackles. Additionally, Austin Hanlon & Michael Crosby had three TD saving interceptions. Also Miles Crothers, Colby Randall, TJ Hagan and Pat Travers all had big open field tackles to stall several Holliston drives.

George Thurston and Cooper Gavin traded off at QB to lead us to another victory.

E White

E White came away with a hard fought 13-12 win. Nolan Perry ran for two long touchdowns. Will Barrett had a key pass to PJ Beuttel on a third and 12 for a key first down on the game winning drive. Good plays on both sides of the ball were turned in by Nolan Davis, John Macvarish, James Richards, Eric Decoste, and Casey Fernandez.

D Silver

D Silver lost against North Attleboro 2 by a score of 7-0. An offensive line anchored by Anthony Oliviera at center and John "Jack" Maloney at tackle led a bruising multipronged rushing attack from Tim Jennings, Angel Santiago, and Devante Ramos.

On the defensive side players were making tackles and doing everything they were asked of them the whole game. That defense, led by Matt Costello and featuring Zachary Graden, Tyler Monti, Isiah Offutt smothered North Attleboro all day. The game was decided by one fluke play early on. Unfortunately the D team just couldn't punch it into the endzone. Next week is King Phillip. This week the pieces were together and the kids put on a great display that everyone should be proud of. A well deserved W is surely on its way.

E Silver

E Silver defeated the Sandwich White team by a score of 26 - 0 during Week 4 of the Pop Warner schedule. It was a beautiful "September Morn" when the undefeated (and unscored upon!!) Plymouth Vikings E Silver squad took the lower field at Forges for the 9AM game. That "beautiful morning" soon became "ugly" for Sandwich when Orlando "Magic" Abreau swept to the right of his offensive line and scored a 60 yard touchdown on the first play of the game!!! Sandwich's first attempt on offense did not go so well when Abreau intercepted a pass from his (left) outside linebacker position and, as they say "took it to the house" for 50 yards and 6 more points!!! The "Magic wasn't over" quite yet when (in the 2nd quarter) Abreau took a crossbuck handoff up the right side for 30 yards and another touchdown for a total of 18 points for Orlando Abreau and over 150 yards rushing!!!! "Broadway Joe" Hurley ran a smart game at Quarterback for E Silver and showed some fine footwork on a bootleg play by cutting it upfield for a 15 yard touchdown!!!! Roy "Boxcar Willie" Willis once again ran like a freight train for over 80 plus yards and scored on a conversion. John "Isaac" Hayes had a great day at noseguard and recovered a Sandwich fumble just as they were gaining some momentum on offense. Aiden "Tomato Soup" Campbell was leaving Sandwich's offensive line bloodied and red with embarrassment as he broke through their line for a couple of backfield tackles!!!! Able "Bodied" Schanhals gave a great effort at the safety spot and assisted his linebackers in a few open field tackles!!!! Great job to all the the kids and coaches on E Silver!!!! Hard work at practice results in winning on Sundays!!!!!!

E Blue

The 3-0 E-Blue Vikings "boxed it out" with the 3-0 Jr. Boxers from Brockton this weekend with the Vikings coming out with a 26-12 win. Quarterbacks Zack "eat'm up" Eaton and Kyle "bobblehead" Caraher combined for three touchdowns. The E-Blue Vikings team came into the match not letting up a touchdown in their first three games of the year. That would change as the Jr. Boxers scored on thier first offense play. The Brockton offense scored on a nice 60 yard run from scrimmage. The E-Blue team found themselves in a hole quickly 6-0 4 minutes into the game. The E-Blue offense came right back and scored on a tough run from inside the 10 yard line by Jacob "full speed" Burkhead. The Jr. Boxers came right back and scored the next offensive series. With two minutes into the second quarter the E-Blue team found themselves trailing 12-7. On the next offensive series Kyle Caraher found tight end Shane Gibbons wide open in the endzone for a nice 25 yard strike. The Vikings went into half time with a slim 14-12 lead.

In the second half the E-Blue defense slammed the door. Jack Parker began the second half with a nice quarterback sack that set the tone for the remainder of the game. The E-Blue defense was led by Kyle Caraher (two fumble recoveries), linebackers Jake Richards, Josh Whiting, Jacob Burkhead and Zack Eaton. Zack Eaton also had two touchdowns on offense. Jacob Burkhead and Shane Gibbons also scored to help the Vikings improve to 4-0 on the season. Zack Greely, Camden Jennings, Austin Nolan, Max Lyons, Sam DeCoste and Danny Lincoln also had notable games. Next up for the E-Blue team is Attleboro at home this Sunday at 10:30am.

C Blue

C Blue won 26 to 0 to bring their record to 4 and 0. Brandon Green scored on the opening drive and Nick Macfarland kicked the extra pointto bring the lead to 8 nothing. Anthony Schena and Brandon Boutin then combined on a defensive safety to bring the lead to 10 zero at the half. Ed Ramos and Jake Zaniboni then each scored in the second half with Macfarland making both extra points. This is the 4th week in a row that the defense has not allowed any points.

B Blue

The B team practiced hard all week and it showed on game day. Both offenses played very tough this week and moved Brockton off the ball all game long. Our white offense which is made up by Trevor Harrington, Joe Durand, Billy Sears, Chris Hardy, Alex Potter, Christian Carr, Chris Lovell, Trevor Devlin, Ariel Casillas, Chris Hall and Brian Farrell drove in two touchdowns. We had four touchdowns for the day with Cory Boudreau and Billy Sears each with two. Our extra point team was able to convert two out of three attempts with a great job by center Dana Burgess holder Pat Hicks and place kicker Cory Boudreau. The defense was outstanding this week. They gave us great field position with two blocked punts with one each by Brendon Mcgowan and Luke Dickerson. Field position was also helped by outstanding special teams lead by Tommy Galanek's kickoffs. Another great game by all the players and coaches. Next week we have Attleboro at home @ 10:30 and we're ready for them!

D Blue

Entering Sunday's contest with Brockton, both teams came into the game 3-0. D Blue won a hard fought battle of undefeating teams by a score of 27-0. To get the scoring started Cullin Cosgrove found Connor Nolan in the end zone with a ten yard pass. Ryan Boudreau ran the ball in for the extra point. Not long later, Walsh was at it again with a 5 yard TD run of his own. Ryan Morrisey ran it in for extra point.
Nick Gill got into the action with a ten yard TD run, followed by a Walsh run for another extra point. Cosgrove closed out the scoring witha 3 yard TD strike to Carter Solis.

The defense posted their second straight shut out against a fast and talented Brockton offense. Justin Cabral set the defensive tone by ended the first half with a crushing hit near center field. With the Brockton runner cutting back to avoid the would be defender, Cabral let him have it to fire up the rest of the team. Next up is Attleboro, and a chance to improve the record to 5-0.

It sure was a little cooler this morning, leaving the house for the bus or for work. Really feels like football weather now. Let's hope it stays cool, but sunny for all the home games this weekend.

We put a new page on the main website today. It is a photo gallery page, where you can check out pictures from the first 3 weeks. They have been gathered from various parents that have sent them in to us. Check it out.

We will post this weekend's game lineup later today. Also, if anyone out there wants to help get the lines painted at the field for the games, we will be taking care of it tomorrow afternoon. We have all the hash marks and numbers to do, plus we need to refresh all the lines that were washed away last weekend in the slop. We should be getting started around 1:30, so if you want to help out, we will be at starting at the snack shack.

Week 3 Results-Updated

Well, week 3 is now in the past, and the Vikings had another very successful weekend. As a program, 7 of the 9 football teams came away with victories, on a rainy, soggy day at our home field. Great job by everyone involved and we will have more game highlights to post as they come in so check back later.

A Blue

Sunday started off with a real soggy rainstorm with the A Blue team being visited by Duxbury. The game started off strong for the Vikings with a pass from Duxbury being picked off by Chucky Phachansiri and returned for the games first 6 points. Unfortunately, Duxbury was able to take advantage of the field conditions and pull off a 14-6 victory by the time it was over. It was a good team effort in tough conditions. Best luck on a speedy recovery to Tyler Gusciora, who injured his knee during the game.

B Blue

Next up was another soggy one between the B Blue Vikings and the team from Mansfield JF. The B team had another tough game with the weather just one of many obstacles they had to overcome. They had several starters unable to play and an injury during the game. The players that were asked to play different positions did a great job. Ken Drew and Trevor Harrington both played several positions on defense and each had big plays. Christian Carr filled in on the offense and had a good game. The only touchdown of the game was by Cory Boudreau. The extra point was a great pass by Thomas Galanek to Cory Boudreau. Our defense did an outstanding job stopping Mansfield's offense and came away with another shutout with the final score Plymouth 7 Mansfield 0. Great job by all the players and coaches!

E Blue

While the B team was brewing their victory on the upper field, the E Blue team started things off on the lower field. The E-Blue team extended its winning streak to 3-0 behind a passing game that was led by QB Kyle Caraher, TE's Shane Gibbons and Zack Eaton. Zack Eaton hauled in a 25 yard touchdown pass from Kyle Caraher. Shane Gibbons caught 3 passes and a pass for an extra point. The running game was again led by Jacob Burkhead who scored on a nice 35 yard run for a touchdown. The potent E-Blue offense scored 3 touchdowns and beat a strong Mansfield JF team 20-0. The E-Blue defense again came up big, shutting out a tough Mansfield offense. The tough E-Blue defense has three consecutive shutouts in the 1st three games of the season. Other outstanding players on defense were Austin Nolan, Cam St. Croix, Jake Richards, Jack Payton, Cam Dow, Will Petrillo and Kam "with a K" Macfarland.

C Blue

With the B Blue team starting a streak, the undefeated C Blue team was next to take the upper field against Mansfield JF. Brandon Green topped off a 10 play 63 yard opening drive with a 9 yard TD run. Ed Ramos rushed for over 100 yards in the game. He had a 38 yard
TD run capping off a 58 yard drive and a 45 yard TD run. Nicholas Marfarland kicked two extra points. On the defensive side of the ball Cody Parks had two interceptions, one he returned for a 42 yard TD. The 28-0 victory brings C Blue's record to 3-0. They face Brockton Sunday at 12:00pm at home.

D Blue

The next team to extend the win steak on the soggy upper field was D Blue, going against Mansfield JF. With a final score of 28-0, touchdowns were scored by Nick Gill, Ryan Morrisey, Colin Nicklas, and Carter Solis. Joey Walsh and Cullin Cosgrove each convereted point after scores, and Carter Solis notched his first safety of the season.

D White

With the streak on the upper field at 3, D White has a tough game at 3pm. The D-White Vikings were victorious with a 12-0 final score against the Hopkinton Raiders. Colby Randall had a long TD run to bring the Vikings to a 6-0 lead. Ben Waithe scored the Vikings other TD with some great blocking by the team, which opened the gap for his run at the end of the second quarter.

The Raiders had several opportunities to score but the defense, led by Colby Randall, Kyle Mann, Miles Crothers, and Michael Crosby, was able to hold them under tricky weather conditions. Great effort by all!

D Silver

After a long day of waiting in the rain, and having to play on a messy field, the D Silver team lost 20-0 to Franklin. Though the score didn't reflect it, it was a really solid effort by the team. The Vikings defense did a great job all game. Blake Cowan had an outstanding game at defensive end, saving more then one touchdown with solid tackling. Devante Ramos had a terrific day with an INT at corner back and some solid running on the ground at tail back. Noah Cully played at noseguard and was extremely effective at the position all day. Next week we have North Attleboro, our defense is where it needs to be. Now its time for our offense to catch up.

E White

The E White team played the Norfolk Vikings on the lower field, and came away with a close 7-0 victory. More details to come.

E Silver

E Silver beat Sandwich (2) in our home opener by a score of 26 - 0. E Silver now has a record of 3 wins and 0 losses and have yet to give up any points on defense. The wet and sloppy field conditions did not hamper E Silver's ground game. Full Back Roy "Willie" Willis had 3 touchdowns on the day. Willis ran for 20, 25 and 45 yard touchdown runs through huge holes on the left side of the line provided by Left Guard Andrew "Monsta" Meyer and Left Tackle Tyler "T Bone" Fleigel.

Elijah "Reckless" Ramos scored an 8 yard touchdown run on a dive play from the wingback position and had a sack for a 12 yard loss from his outside linebacker position. Rafaella "Rockin'" Ramos had a great day at Defensive Safety and Right Defensive End.

Sandwich had no luck running the ball up the middle against the E Silver defense. Their efforts were stymied by the Right Defensive Tackle play of Jimmy "The Hammer" Palmer. Joe "Say It Aint So" Hurley made some great open field tackles as Sandwich tried some left sweep plays.

Orlando "Magic" Abreu through a scare into the crowd when getting injured during a play but was able to get off the field under his own power. He returned to the game after a series of downs.

Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac hosts fingerprinting event on September 20

With so many children involved in the program, we thought we would pass on this information about a great event being hosted by Tracy Chevrolet.

A missing child is a parent’s worst nightmare. Yet it happens all the time. As parents, you can take all the precautions possible, but in the event it should happen to your child, you need to be able to provide the authorities with as much information as possible. That’s something most parents aren’t prepared and why Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac is hosting fingerprinting event on Saturday, September 20, from 11am to 2pm.

Representatives from Executive Protection International will conduct this free event in Tracy Chevrolet Cadillac’s showroom at 137 Samoset Street in Plymouth. Children’s fingerprints will be taken using a non-toxic fingerprint strip. Parents will receive those extra large prints on a high quality stock paper, which includes space to attach an updated photo, an area for contact info and medical information and a special section for notes.

“If you’re a parent, you can’t hear an AMBER alert on the news or see a picture on the side of milk carton without a chill going down your spine. Week 2 ~ Game Results

Thanks to Hurricane Hanna - the game schedule was a moving target! While the fields were a little soggy on Sunday, the weather (finally) turned in the Vikings favor with some great football being played by all the Plymouth Viking teams this past weekend!

Off to a good start on Sunday with E Blue's win over Norton ~
The E BLUE team started off Sunday at 9:00 a.m. sharp, the first game of the day. They did not disappoint the fans as once again they came out strong. The E BLUE team kept their record going to 2-0 with another shutout by the score of 24-0 against Norton. On the offensive side they had big games from Shane Gibbons with another great catch for a touchdown from Kyle Caraher, as well as the great running of Jacob Burkhead for another touchdown. Kyle Caraher also ran for 2 TD’s on the day. Robbie Gomes, Danny Lincoln and Ryan O’Neill had a great game running the ball also. The defense put the pressure on Norton all game to keep them scoreless with some great tackles . Notables from defense were Zack Greeley, Josh Whiting, Jake Richards and Zack Eaton. The E BLUE defense has only given up one 1st down in 2 games. Great job guys.

E White hits the Road to Norfolk
E WHITE traveled to Norfolk to play on Sunday and were handed a tough loss by the score of 33-13. Nolan Perry had two scores, Jeff Coste ran well one fifty yard run, P.J.Beuttel had three catches for 35 yards. Will Barrett completed six passes one for a touchdown. Defensive stars were Casey Fernandez, Eric Decoste, Aidan Crosby, Kevin Collins, John MacVarish, Kyle Watkins, and Alex Munoz.

E WHITE will at home for their home opener on Sunday 9/14 @ 12:00 p.m. on the lower field.

Another Win for E SILVER ~
E Silver traveled to Norfolk, MA. on Sunday Sept 7th and played a 9AM game. They arrived prior to all the traffic flowing into Foxboro for the Patriot's home opener and came away with a 6-0 win over Norfolk. A great defensive game from teams !!!!

Some brief highlights of our kids: RB Roy Willis broke 2 tackles and ran 40 yards for the only points of the game. Kenny Millbry and Anthony Spinetti had 2 sacks each. Left Defensive Tackle Zach Hoyt and Right Defensive Tackle Ryan Cummings did a great job of keeping Norfolk to the inside. Zach Hoyt had 5 tackles behind the line of scrimmage. Hoyt and Left Defensive Tackle Cam Brenner combined on a sack that resulted in Brenner recovering the football. Tyler Fliegel (Right Offensive Tackle) did an outstanding job of blocking and making holes.

Two In a Row for D BLUE ~
D Blue won vs Norton 19-7. Another tough battle that was won in the fourth quarter. Touch downs were scored by Connor Nolan and two by Ryan Morrisey. Nolan's TD was a ten yard pass reception from Cullin Cosgrove that tied the game at 7. Morrisey's first TD happened early in the fourth quarter after a clutch interception by Colin Nicklas. His second TD put the game away after another turn over by Norton on a forced fumble caused by Nicklas. Other stand outs in the game were Justin Cabral, Brett Cabral, Aaron Corthell, Andrew Dorito, Aaron Corthell and Max Barrows.

D White on a Roll ~
WHAT A GAME!!! It was a great team effort by all players so it's difficult to single out only a few. However, George Thurston had a number of great plays as did Pat Travers and Cullen Johnson. On both sides of the ball, the Viking D-White team had a number of key plays to bring the Vikings to a 20-13 victory in OT against a very strong Norfolk team. Our offense was led by a lot of returning players, however, the group of first-year players dominated by Jake Tamulionis, Cody Gosselin, Kevin Concannon, Tim Barron, Patt Webb, and Dylan Ketterer completed a long drive capped off by a 12-yard TD run to bring the Vikings to a 6-0 lead.
Although Norfolk was able to score twice before half-time, the Viking defense, consisting of Mike Larareo, Patt Markey, Jordan Petrillo, Sam Wallace, Jake Yorks, Collin Moriarty, Matt Cushing, James Ward, Tommy Belcher and Robert Whitman, was able to hold the very strong Norfolk team to a 7 point lead going into the half.
Colby Randall was exceptional not only on defense but also on offense as he was able to score on several ocassions by running through holes opened by Michael Crosby. Cooper Gavin, a first-year QB, helped lead the offense and also had a QB run to tie the score. Ben Waithe also contributed to our successful offense by advancing the ball on several occasions and had great kick-offs. The ever-present Miles Crothers and Kyle Mann dominated the defense with a number of key plays. Additionally, TJ Hagan, Austin Hanlon, and Andrew Shortall had key open-field tackles to help preserve the Vikings win. Overall, the D-White team won as a team, but worthy of mention, Ty Santos caused the fumble in OT to secure the Vikings victory. GREAT EFFORT BY ALL!

Solid Effort for D Silver ~
The D Silver Vikings lost 19-0. The score was deceptive though as it was a solid effort by the team this week. Despite not being able to put it in the endzone, Chris Elliot had a great day at tight end, blocking and getting open for passes. While Joey Vantangoli had a solid day blocking, anchoring the offensive line at Tackle. Defensively Zach Graden made some great tackles at Safety while Angel Santiago was penetrating through the O line at Noseguard all game. Next week we host Franklin and will most definitely bring an improved performance for our first home game of the season.

The Winning Streak Continues for C Blue
C BLUE played a great game offensively and defensively on Sunday against Norton dominating the whole game. They came away with their 2nd win with a score of 30-0.
Playing @ 12:00 p.m. on their home opener in front of all their friends and family was a sight to see. From the beginning of the game they were in control and kept on rolling all the way. They look to extend their streak on Sunday 9/14 at home against Mansfield J.F. @ 12:00 p.m.

B Blue Turns it Around in Week 2
The B team had another tough game this week against a good Norton team.The score was the same as last week 6-0 however this time we came out on top. Our offenses really played well against a tough Norton defenses. Nick Eaton scored the only touchdown of the game. After we drove the ball down the field with both the white and blue offenses playing great. Lukas Dickerson, Cory Boudreau, Pat Hicks, Brendon Mcgowan and Coleman Barnes all played great on both sides of the ball.

A BLUE was dealt their first loss of the season by a score of 14-0 to Norton. They look to improve at home on Sunday against Duxbury in the 9:00a.m. Slot with the hopes and determination to put another win on the board and come out on top

Vikings Dinner Dance Fund Raiser, October 10th

We are happy to announce that we are going to host a Vikings program dinner dance to be held at the Plymouth Yacht Club. This event is a fund raiser to benefit the program, much like the annual golf tournament and poker tournament.

This is the first one in a while, that is actually during the season. Come have a night of dancing and food with a bunch of other parents with children in the program. The details are listed below. Please stop by the snack shack to purchase your tickets or to ask any questions you may have about the event.

Week 1 Results; Vikings go 8 for 9

Wow, what a great opening week for the Vikings program for 2008! Out of the 9 football teams, 8 came away with wins, while the one team that didn't played a very close and tough battle.

The season started off at 10:30 am on Saturday morning with the E blue team taking care of a scrappy Sandwich E team. With the final score of 24-0, this one was highlighted by Jacob Burkhead scoring 3 rushing TDs and Shane Gibbons hauling in a long bomb from Zachary Eaton off of a great pitch from Kyle Caraher. The defense didn't let up a first down the entire games as the Vikings got off to a great start. Cammie Caraher closed out the contest by intercepting a Sandwich pass and returning it about 25 yards on the final play of the game. Jack Daly had a great day at center to help run a very smooth offense, playing their first game together.

Next up on Saturday at noon, was the E White team. They started off their season on a winning note 7-0 in a tough defensive contest. The Vikings set the tone early with a Nolan Perry touchdown run behind strong blocking from Brendan Morey and Julian Cenac. Defensively the Vikings were led by Perry, Will Barrett, Aidan Crosby, Kyle Watkins, and Will Furtado. With only 5 returning players and injuries leaving the Vikings shorthanded, it was a strong effort by everybody!

The E Silver team was next to take out Sandwich with a 26-0 effort. We will add more details soon.

The B team came down to Sandwich to start off their season under the lights and ended up coming away on the short end of a 6-0 score in a very tough battle. We will add more details soon.

The A team helped finish the first day of the season by taking out their Sandwich rival by a score of 12-0. We will add more details soon.

Sunday morning started off with the C team, once again down in Sandwich with a 10:30 am start. Cody Parks, Brandon Green and Ed Ramos scored rushing touchdowns behind the monster line and effort of Andrew Parker, Nick Fratus, Cory Caraher, Gavin Johnson, Nick Macfarland, Jack Gallagher, and Bobby Dee. Nick Macfarland also booted through a nice extra point to close of the scoring at 20-0. The Vikings hard hitting defense forced three fumbles on the day, which set the tone of thie season opening win.

The D Blue team kept the winning ways going with a close and tough fought 20-18 victory. Touchdowns were scored by Joe Walsh, Cullin Cosgrove and Nick Gill. The difference in the game were the extra points scored by Joe Walsh and Ryan Morrissey. The offensive line lead by Austin Ward, Nick Ariagno, Connor Dow, Spenser Potter, Casey Lynch and many others were big parts to all three scores.

The D White team was the next team to roll to victory by the score of 19-0. Their first play from scrimmage ran for a 35 yd td by Colby Randall who scored twice in this contest. Ben Waithe also scored on a QB keeper. The QBs Cooper Gavin and Ben Waithe did a fantastic job controlling the ball ,they took their games to the next level with some great timing on handoffs and scrambling in the pocket. It was a great game back and forth but D-whites defense was impenetrable, only giving up 1 first down all game. The defense led by Colby Randall, George Thurston and Cullen Johnson had a couple of sacks and 2 fumble recoveries, one by 1st year player Jake Yorks. Other noteables on defense were Ty Santos, Andrew Shortall, Jake Tamulionis, Pat Markey, Collin Moriarty, Sam Wallace and Matt Cushing. The offensive line was led by 2nd yr player Pat Travers with some great help from Austin Hanlon, Kyle Mann, Cody Gosselin, Kevin Concannon, Tom Belcher, James Ward, Miles Crothers, Pat Webb and Mike Crosby. Special wishes to the Sandwich player who had to be taken off the field by ambulance. Hope all is well and a speedy recovery.

Not to be outdone, the D Silver team closed out the winning weekend with a close one, by the score of 13-12. They scored first on their second drive with an awesome pass from QB Brandon Nasiatka to Devante Ramos who scampered 10 yards and put it in the endzone. Tim Jennings got the extra point off a sweep. Sandwich scored in the second quarter with a solid drive down the field, but couldn't convert the PAT. The third quarter had them again driving down the field when a long run of 50+ yards put them with 1st and goal at the 1. The D held them out 3 times before they finally put it in on a broken play on 4th down. Once again, the defense stuffed the PAT attempt, which ended up being huge. With 6 minutes left in the game they got the ball back and ran wide with Tim Jennings and Anthony Roberio all the way down the field before Jennings put in the go ahead touchdown off an off-tackle run. Matt Costello led the defense all day at linebacker making hard tackles and key stops every time we needed them.

Thank you to all the volunteers and sponsors for making opening day a success. Everyone seemed to enjoy the day. Thank you also to Duxbury for bringing all their teams down for a great day of scrimmages. Best of luck to them on their season.

A quick recap on the Punt, Pass and Kick competition.

The finalist for the 7-9 year old division were:

Kyle Caraher ended up coming out on top by a total of 2 feet and won an iPod Shuffle in the process.

The finalists for the 10-12 year old division were:

Michael Crosby
Andrew Parker
Johnny Gomes

Johnny Gomes pulled out the win by just 1 foot, by booming a kickoff 20 feet further than the second place finisher, and took home the iPod Shuffle also.

We had a 2 man showdown for the 13+ division between Frank Gomes and Nick MacFarland. Frank ended up taking the title, in large part thanks to a huge 125 foot pass. In a great show of sportsmanship, Frank ended up giving his iPod Shuffle to Nick after the competition.

It was a great way to end a fun filled day.

Two Important Reminders

Just a quick reminder about the MANDATORY weigh in tomorrow. Please see the post from a couple days ago about the details, but the buses will leave Forges field at 9:30am sharp tomorrow. If you miss the weigh in, you can't play the first 2 games. This is not our rule, it is a Hockomock League Rule, so please be there on time. We expect the buses to be back around 1pm.

Also, Monday night, the individual and team pictures will be taken of the 3 E level teams. The 3 D level football teams will be done on Tuesday, while the A, B, and C level football teams will be on Wednesday night. You should receive picture forms from your coach. You will need to be in uniform for the pictures. If you have any questions, please ask your coach.

The cheer teams pictures will be scheduled shortly.

Opening Day Schedule-Volunteers Needed!

All, Opening Day is just 4 days away and there is still time to volunteer to help with the day's activities. Please visit the Snack Shack at practice tonight or tomorrow night and ask how you can help.

The day is going to be filled with football and fun.

We are going to start off with a parade of all the football players and cheerleaders at 9am. Your coaches will let you know what time to arrive and where to meet.

At 9:30am, we will have 4 scrimmages going on. Two on the upper field and two on the lower field. At 10:30, there will be one scrimmage on the lower field, with the start of the Punt, Pass, and Kick contest starting on the other side of the field for 7-9 year olds. At the same time, two scrimmages will be going on, on the upper field. At 11:30, the B team will be scrimmaging on the upper field, while the 10-12 year old Punt, Pass, and Kick preliminary round will be down on the lower field. At 12:30, the 13+ Punt, Pass and Kick will start on the lower field, as well as any makeups for late signups or players that couldn't make their earlier times.

At 1:00pm, the top 5 finalists from the 3 divisions will compete on the upper field to crown a winner in the Punt, Pass, and Kick contest. Sign up today at the Snack Shack to participate. Entries are $2 per person for the contest, and an iPod Shuffle will be awarded to the winner in each division!

A special guest from Foxboro will be joining us during the morning as well as Radio Disney, broadcasting live from our own Forges Field. Lunch will be served free to the players, and the whole family can purchase lunch at the field. There will be moonwalks and a dunk tank. Lots to do.

Lastly, Verizon will be on hand and will be taking new signups for Verizon Fios. If you have thought about switching to Verizon, now is the time. Not only will you get this great new service, but you will also receive a $100 gas card, and Verizon will donate $25 to the program for each new subscriber that signs up Sunday.

Uno's Fund Raiser

Tired of the hectic practices and still having to cook dinner? Well next Thursday, August 28th, skip the cooking and head to Pizzeria Uno's at the Shops of 5 anytime during the day, and help raise funds for the program.

All you have to do is visit the store at any time during the day and present the coupon below. Uno's will add up all of the money they take in from our program, and donate a portion of the proceeds back. The more money we spend at Uno's as a program, the more that comes back to us.

Feel free to pass out these coupons to anyone that is visiting Uno's next Thursday to increase our fund raiser.

Weigh in on August 23rd

So we have just over a week until the offical, MANDATORY weigh in for the league. Hopefully everyone already knows about it, but here are some details.

The weigh in takes place at Brockton High School. Buses will be at Forges Field on Saturday morning to transport all the kids to the weigh in. Only players and coaches are allowed on the buses. Since our weigh in time is 11:15am, we will be leaving on the buses at about 9:45am. All players should plan on arriving at the field by 9:15am or whenever your coach tells you.

The weigh in is conducted in shorts, game shirt, and sneakers. Your child should bring a drink with them for the bus ride, and for the wait outside the school. It can be a long day. After the weigh in, there is a snack bar for food. If you want your child to be able to get something to eat for lunch, please send them with a few dollars.

The buses should get back to Forges Field at about 1:30pm or so.

Again, this is MANDATORY. If your child does not attend, or does not make the required weight limit, they will not be able to play football for the first 2 weeks. At that time, there is a supplemental weigh in that will allow them to be certified to play, as long as they then make the weight.

Wow, I don't know about you, but I had some big thunderstorms over my house last night/this morning. We will see how mother nature treats us as the day goes on, but check back for any updates later today.

It looked like everyone was working hard at the Jungleplex last night. It's nice to hear the pads smacking again. Keep up the good work. Opening day is less than 2 weeks away.

All, due to the weather, we had to move practice for tonight to the Jungleplex. If you were scheduled to practice, the three E teams and D Silver will practice from 5:00-6:30. The A, B, C, D White and D Blue will practice from 6:30-8:00 on the 3 open fields, and the A cheerleading squad will practice from 6:30-8:00 in the "boarded" soccer field. Full Pads on Monday

Congrats to everyone on working hard for the first week of practice. Conditioning week is behind us, and everyone can look forward to full pads starting on Monday night. Enjoy your weekend, and get ready for some action.

Also, for anyone interesting, Margo Collins, one of our players mom's, will be starting up boot camp training up at the field during Tuesday and Thursday nights during practice. Class will start at 5:45pm and run for about an hour and 15 minutes. Margo is an ACE certified athletic trainer, and will make your workout fun and rewarding. The classes are $7 per session, and are payable the day you decide to take the class. Classes will start on Tuesday, August 12th. If you have any questions, give her a call at 508-243-5482.

First Day a Success

Hopefully everyone had a great first practice. The season has arrived and everyone seemed to be working hard last night. Remember to bring your water bottles and to keep hydrated. We only have 3 weeks to get ready for scrimmages on Opening Day!

Speaking of Opening Day, did you see the message on the website about Radio Disney? They will be broadcasting live from Forges Field at our opening day, August 24th. We will have scrimmages going on, lots of fun for the whole family, and now Radio Disney. Come on down and take a chance at going to Hollywood to see a taping of a Disney Channel show live!

2008 Season Starts Today

Well, the first day of practice is finally here. Hopefully everyone knows where to go, what team they are on, etc. by now. If not, we will have a table set up to provide information to anyone that needs it starting at around 4:30 or 5:00pm today.

Unless you heard otherwise from your football coach, everyone should arrive for practice today in cleats, shorts, tee shirt, helmet and mouthguard. Also, don't forget to bring a full water bottle to keep hydrated during these dog days of summer practices.

Sunday, August 24th will be the Plymouth Pop Warner opening day. There will be scrimmages throughout the day, moonwalks, dunk tank, food and a visit from a special guest from Foxboro. Make sure you bring the camera and make a day of it as the teams start their march to the playoffs for the 2008 football and cheering season.

As always, we welcome any volunteers that could help with cooking, concessions, kids activities etc. Also, if you know anyone that would like to donate food, beverages, tables, chair, tents, etc, please let us know.
